F.A.W.C! Day Out

Brand-new to F.A.W.C! Summer Series for 2018 is F.A.W.C! Day Out - one ticket for all-day access to tasting the best of Hawke's Bay.

F.A.W.C! Day Out will be bringing together an incredible line-up of talent: 65 local producers, wineries, breweries and cideries all serving up world-class beverages, and will offer 17 food and wine masterclasses hosted by culinary geniuses.

Event goers can discover new tastes and produce at the food stalls, and take part in masterclasses featuring national and local talent including Ray McVinnie, Nicki Wickes, Martin Bosley, Claire Aldous, Martin Bosley and James Beck. Chefs will be on the Hawke’s Bay Grill all day serving up first-class food, and revellers can taste any number of local drops.

F.A.W.C! Day Out will take place in and around the glorious spaces at Black Barn Vineyards, some of which are not normally open to the public – The Olive Shed, The Underground Cellar, and Black Barn Retreat as well as the well-known Market Round.

The Olive Shed Masterclasses
Six food masterclasses featuring James Beck, Ray McVinnie, Nici Wickes, Claire Aldous and Martin Bosley.

The Underground Wine Cellar Masterclasses
Six wine masterclasses brought to you by Hawke’s Bay Winegrowers featuring a top-notch line-up of Hawke’s Bay wine-making talent. This includes two classes by Simon Nash MW showcasing the Hawke's Bay wines from the Fine Wines of New Zealand programme and regional tastings from our local wine heroes.

The School for Big Cheeses
A series of five Juliet Harbutt cheese masterclasses matched with local produce, beers and cider.

The Food Tent in the Market Round featuring;

The Hawke’s Bay Grill with local Hawke’s Bay chefs Andrew Saxon from The Good Table, Casey McDonald from Terroir at Craggy Range, David Griffith from Mister D, Francky Godinho from St George’s, and Paolo Pancotti from Molto Italian Kitchen.

  • on-the-day sign-up to Masterclasses.


VIP Entry: $200

Your VIP ticket includes:

  • all-day access to F.A.W.C! Day Out!
  • $20 pre-loaded on to your AWOP wristband
  • access to pre-book up to six masterclasses. VIP seating included. Pick the six classes you wish to reserve and email the F.A.W.C! team directly
