Hastings Commemoration Service - Cyclone One Year Anniversar

Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay faced unimaginable devastation and loss from Cyclone Gabrielle – one of the worst storms to hit Aotearoa New Zealand in living history.

We acknowledge the deep losses felt right across our communities, including those whānau who lost loved ones, and those whose lives, livelihoods, homes and communities were impacted in unimaginable ways.

It has been heartening to see our communities pulling together with kindness, courage and commitment, bringing hope and optimism for our ongoing recovery.

While there’s still a lot to do, the progress of the last 12 months is significant and continues to bring us closer to full recovery.

Please join us on Wednesday 14 February as we remember, reflect and stand together. All are welcome.
