Songs From the Shows - Encore!

By special request, Napier's favourite small choir, Octavius, will present their popular "Songs from the Shows" concert once more! Devised by Musical Director Anthony Tattersall, this program was wildly popular when we sang it last year in Napier and Dannevirke; it is a brilliant selection of the best solos, choruses and medleys from musicals such as My Fair Lady, Chicago, Les Miserables, Westside Story, several Gilbert & Sullivan shows and other favourites.

“When you bring together the best choral singers of Hawke’s Bay and a conductor with 35 years of experience, something memorable is bound to happen. After hearing Jesus Christ Superstar, Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, Memory, Light at The End Of The Tunnel and Love Changes Everything, to name a few, the audience was stunned initially, then wild in acclaim. The programme was mixed with solos, every soloist very accomplished, and very polished group items, show medleys including Bohemian Rhapsody and songs from Les Miserables and concluded with a selection of Richard Rodgers hits like I Whistle a Happy Tune, There is Nothing Like A Dame and June is Bustin’ Out All Over to finish on a cheerful note. It was a show not to be missed!”

Entry is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and we can accept cash or eftpos. The ticket price includes a special treat - the church will provide a delicious afternoon tea after the concert! Children under 14 admitted free. We look forward to seeing you there!
